The primary integral fluxes of the total cosmic radiation, protons and alpha particles could be determined from measurements with proportional counters at balloon altitudes over Germany. The flights covered times of different solar activity. The ratio of relative amplitudes of the time variations is found to be 2.1 ± 0.3 for the total radiation as well as for the alpha particle component with respect to the neutron recordings at ground level at Lindau (Han.). The total radiation at 0 g/cm2 consists of about 13 per cent of alpha particles.
