The paper deals with the ballisticonavigational aspects of achieving a precise soft landing at a prescribed point on the Martian surface. The maximal and minimal range of flight are determined, along with the sighting range of descent. Control algorithms for precise Martian soft landings are synthesized. The influence of insufficient knowledge of the atmospheric entry conditions on the precision of soft landing and the fuel consumption for descent is analyzed. Numerical data on the effectiveness of control algorithms in the presence of various perturbing factors are presented and discussed.
