We have calculated the Aharonov-Bohm phase shifts for closed strings whose world sheets are toroids interacting with either a massless or a massive axion. In the limit that the cross-sectional radius becomes much less than the toroidal radius, the phase shift for an axion with charge q approaches qπ/2. We also discuss the Aharonov-Bohm phase shift on a sphere.
