We have reached a pivotal time in the study of the cultural astronomy of Africa. The last ten years has seen African scholars initiating projects, an increase in articles focused on African astronomy, the recognition of research in African astronomy at international meetings, and the building of a network of scholars and students. Together, let us look at what has been accomplished in African cultural astronomy and what remains to be done.
