The papers deal with ISEE 1 and 2 observations of the solar wind and earth's bow shock. Initial results of bow-shock and interplanetary-shock observations with the ISEE magnetometers are reviewed, along with bow-shock and magnetospheric electron-density measurements, observations of solar corpuscular radiation at earth's bow shock, results deduced from high-time-resolution electron plasma profiles of the bow shock, and observations of low-energy ions in the magnetosheath and upstream of the bow shock. Initial results from ISEE plasma-wave measurements are surveyed, and preliminary results from the six-axis electron spectrometer on ISEE 1 are reviewed concerning various aspects of electrons in the dawn magnetosheath.
