These papers deal with measurements made in the magnetosphere by the ISEE 1 and 2 spacecraft. Magnetic-field profiles across the magnetopause obtained by the two spacecraft are examined, along with high-resolution plasma observations performed during four inbound passes of the spacecraft, magnetospheric measurements of three-dimensional velocity distributions for positive ions and electrons with energies of 1 eV to 45 keV, and particle data obtained when the spacecraft were on the front side of the magnetosphere. Attention is also given to ISEE 1 electric-field measurements with double-probe floating-potential instruments, electric-field measurements made at 11 magnetopause crossings during a single inbound pass of ISEE 1, and three-dimensional distributions obtained with the ISEE 1 medium-energy particle instrument for protons having energies of 24 to 44.5 keV.
