Clusters of galaxies are potentially extremely useful cosmological probes. However, while clusters are possibly the simplest astrophysical objects, our knowledge of the processes that shape their evolution is far from being complete. I will discuss recent developments in theoretical modeling of galaxy clusters with emphasis on results of numerical simulations. Specifically, I will discuss simulations that include cooling and phenomenological effects of stellar feedback and how the results compare to various observations, such as scaling relations, temperature and entropy distributions, cold fronts, etc. I will also discuss the prospects of theoretical modeling of cluster formation in the near future.
