The Kinematics module from Physics by Inquiry1 has been adapted for and tested in a high school classroom. The adaptation was based on experience gained both as a preservice teacher in special courses taught by the Physics Education Group at the University of Washington, and also as an instructor in a six-week NSF Summer Institute taught by the group. Pretests and post-tests have been administered to assess the effectiveness of the curriculum in improving student understanding of kinematics. Recent results will be presented.
