Comet 1910 Ii Halley, Cometary Tails:Activity

Scientific paper

A photographic sequence of the large-scale phenomena of comet Halley was taken at the Simao Observation Station of the Yunnan Observatory from March 4 to 22, recording the frequent large-scale activity of the plasma tail. The various daily active phenomena are described and it is suggested from the analyses that at least, two disconnection events occurred on March 8 - 9 and 21, respectively. The process of the activity of the plasma tail and the correlation between the activity of the plasma tail and solar activity are preliminary discussed.
