Two particle beam injectors on board the INTERCOSMOS-25 spacecraft are the core of experiments of the APEX project. The subsatellite MAGION-3 with a payload covering the main plasma and wave measurements was used as an independent diagnostic package. Theory of VLF wave generation by Xe plasma beam is discussed and first results of the active plasma experiments are mentioned.
