We present here the results of a comprehensive study of the accretion activity in galaxy nuclei in the most underdense regions in the universe, the voids. We show that Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) are definitely present in voids, but that their occurrence rate and properties differ from those in dense environs. We present the first evidence that the local environmental dependence of AGN activity is a function of host properties, which are strongly conditioned by the imprint of the large scale structure.
