THE aurora visible at Cambridge on the night of Saturday, September 28,
showed considerable activity from 9 to 10 p.m. (B.S.T.). When most
disturbed, there was a definite change of colour with increasing
altitude, the lower portion being bright green, gradually changing to
reddish from about altitude 30° up to and beyond the Pole.
