We propose ACIS-S imaging of three intermediate FRI/FRII radio galaxies which are embedded in the centers of rich galaxy clusters. These objects are good candidates for fading/dying radio galaxies. We request 50ks observations of both 3C346 and 3C401 with the intention of comparing the radio and X-ray morphologies. In particular, we will search for X-ray shells and cavities that have been seen in many low-redshift radio-galaxy/cluster systems. These data will constrain the kinetic power and history of these sources. We will also be able to easily resolve the ICM emission from any central AGN component, even in the presence of a central cooling flow cusp. A 10ks exploratory observation of 3C173.1 is requested in order to perform the same decomposition.
