We will perform a 50 ks observation of the supernova remnant W49B using ACIS-I. The goals of this observation are as follows: 1. Measure the flux and spectrum of the hard tail. 2. Map out the emission from Si, S, Fe and thereby search for the stratification suggested by ASCA. 3. Determine progenitor type by measuring relative abundances of observable metals. 4.Obtain the first high spatial resolution, broad band image. 5. Map temperature and ionization structure
