Scientific paper

We propose to observe the ISM-dominated remnant N23 in the Large
Magellanic Cloud using ACIS-S3 on Chandra. Our objectives are spatially
resolved spectroscopy and spectral imaging, in particular to distinguish
between the spectrum of the bright western side with the fainter north
and east, and to search for harder emission than was detected with ASCA.
