Wavelengths are determined for vacuum UV (VUV) lines in Cl III, IV, V and VI and for those in Ar III, IV, and V by means of studying their emission spectra in the VUV region. Energy levels of the ground configurations are confirmed, and the wavelengths of the transition lines are given with uncertainties of around 0.003 A. These data are of use in the interpretation of wavelength regions observed by means of space observatories.
