The motivation for this study is to examine the inherent accuracy of the thin-lens approximation typically used in gravitational lensing studies and a new iterative approximation recently introduced 1,2. These two approximations are compared against the numerical integration of the null geodesic equations for an approximate metric describing the lensing scenario.
