Interstellar Extinction

Scientific paper

Efficiency factors of extinction for randomly oriented spheroidal grains
are calculated using the T-matrix approach, the Rayleigh approximation,
and a modified Rayleigh approximation, the refractive index of grain
material being m = 1.7+i·0.03. The range of validity of the
approximate formulae is discussed.
