The measurement errors in the determination of some parameters of a planetary subsurface layer are assessed on the basis of polarization measurements of Martian radio emission performed on board the automatic interplanetary station Mars 3. The influence of internal variables of the onboard radio telescope, of the errors in the determination of antenna orientation, and of the telemetry system errors on the total errors of dielectric constant and temperature determination is evaluated. The maximum possible errors in the determination of the dielectric constant owing to depolarization of side lobe radiation are calculated.
