Experimental results are presented on the accumulation and confinement of plasma in Jupiter-1M in the case of ionization of the working gas by electrons. Plasma density and particle lifetime were determined as a function of injection current and energy, neutral-gas pressure, and magnetic field. The classical theory of ionization, electron diffusion across the magnetic field, and ion diffusion in the velocity space is used to develop a model of plasma accumulation and confinement that satisfactorily explains the experimental data.
