A two-dimensional numerical simulation of the accretion of interstellar material onto a binary system has been performed. The numerical technique is discussed, and the results of the calculation are presented. It is shown that an 'accretion wake' forms behind the primary, which leads to a region of greatly enhanced density and temperature in the infalling gas.
