An analytic model is proposed for the ionized jets from young stars. The jets are driven thermally, but the mechanism to assure their high collimations and long travel distances is explained by an electrodynamical process. In this process, the azimuthal component of the magnetic field plays an essential role. The development of this component, in turn, is due to the presence of compact accretion disks around young stars. Also, high temperatures required to explain the high velocities of the jets are considered as a consequence of accretion processes. In this sense, the jets may be regarded as accretion-driven. The basic equations employed in this paper are those of the resistive MHD in which the electrical conductivity is assumed to be constant, for simplicity.
