The paper presents a theoretical analysis of the mean-field and Fermi acceleration of cosmic-ray particles in the interplanetary medium (IMF). It is shown that the acceleration of cosmic rays in the IMF by the mean electric field is most efficient for low-energy particles. If the value of alpha (the mean-field coefficient) is sufficiently high, the mean-field accelereation significantly predominates over the Fermi acceleration.
