Supernovae are considered as a possible source of galactic cosmic rays. The energy spectrum characteristics of protons and electrons accelerated by the regular mechanism (i.e., on shock waves) in supernova shells are examined. Shell evolution is discussed in relation to cosmic ray generation, and the energy contribution of supernovae to cosmic rays is examined.
