Along with hot plasma sheet particles, FAST often measures accelerated cold electron fluxes in the pre-midnight central plasma sheet (CPS) of the auroral oval. This is the region typically associated with the diffuse aurora and is found equatorward of the boundary plasma sheet (BPS) region in which discrete aurora is found. The cold accelerated electron spectra observed in the CPS region are similar to the accelerated (``Inverted-V'') electron spectra in the BPS region but with much lower energies. The peak energies of such spectra are often less than the precipitating hot plasma sheet particles (1-10~keV) providing an ideal opportunity for studying the cold electrons separately from the hot plasma sheet electrons. By fitting many such cold electron spectra measured by the FAST satellite in the pre-midnight CPS region at 4000~km, we have obtained temperatures, densities, and the energies to which the electrons were accelerated. We use the temperatures, densities and accelerated energies as well as the distribution function of the electrons in pitch-angle and energy to determine if prior to the acceleration, the cold electrons come from the ionosphere, plasma sheet or plasmasphere.
