GHRS spectra of the Seyfert galaxy NGC 3516 will be obtained of the C IV region with the G160M grating. The purpose of the observations is to investigate intrinsic absorption lines, which provide information on the covering factor and motions of the clouds along the line-of-sight. Previous IUE studies indicate variable absorption over time scales of months or less. The first GHRS spectrum of NGC 3516 in the C IV region is planned for early 1995.
