The absolute visual light curves of 10 Type IIL supernovae are studied by collecting data on the apparent magnitude, distance, and interstellar extinction of each event. The light curves are modeled by means of a simple analytical technique that, combined with a constraint on the energy to mass ratio from spectroscopy, yields internally consistent values of the ejected mass, kinetic energy, and nickel mass. The peak absolute visual magnitude distribution is studied as well. For this, we have collected data for 19 Type IIL supernovae.
