We present a differential analysis of the type SNe Ia supernova (SN Ia)
light curves, in terms of the classifications by the ejecta velocity of SiII as proposed by Wang et al. (2009). We found that the SNe Ia of these two groups exhibit diverse behavior that is independent of the conventional light curve shape parameters widely used in the cosmological applications. SNe Ia with faster expanding ejecta are redder in B - V near the peak, and have systematically faster rise time and brighter light curve tails at shorter wavelengths. Such discrepancies are likely caused by the differences in the local environments and/or variations in the initial conditions of the exploding white dwarfts. The systematic effects of our findings on current distance measurements of SNe Ia are discussed.
