Absolute state-selected total cross sections for the reactions O+(2D) (or O+(2P))+N2 → N2++O, NO++N, and N++NO (or N+O) have been measured in the center-of-mass (c.m.) collision energy (Ec.m.) range of 1.3-25 eV. Charge transfer is overwhelmingly the major product channel. The ratios of the charge transfer cross section due to O+(2P) to that associated with O+(2D) at the corresponding Ec.m. are found to be in the range of 0.71-0.88. The cross sections for N+ resulting from the O+(2D,2P)+N2 reactions are significantly greater than those fomed by the O+(4S)+N2 reaction. The Ec.m. dependences observed for the N+ cross section indicate that the formation of N++NO from the collision of O+(2P)+N2 is a viable process, whereas N+ formed in the O+(2D)+N2 reaction is mainly associated with the N++N+O channel.
