It is clear that Quasars are surrounded by lots of hot atomic hydrogen excited by the observed very strong Lyman absorption. In a magnetic field this gas causes large Doppler-like red-shifts without blur of images or spectra via "Coherent Raman Effect on Time-Incoherent Light" (CREIL). Thus, we conclude that the abnormally large red-shifts from Quasars are partially due to these Coherent Raman Interactions, and that Quasars are NOT at abnormally large distances. An observed Lyman line is as wide as the red-shift produced during its absorption by the atomic hydrogen; we suppose that its splitting into a forest is the result of variations of intensity produced by variations of red-shift (by unit of length) due to variations of the magnetic field. These conclusions obviate the need for any mysterious explanations of Quasars.
