The search for galaxy clusters at z greater than 1 is made difficult by their rarity and relative faintness; to date, only a handful are known, mostly from wide-field X-ray surveys. NIR surveys targeting the galaxy red sequence provide a complementary approach. We propose 50 ksec of EPIC observations of the rich z=1.20 galaxy cluster ELAISN2-117, recently discovered by the 50 square degree SpARCS Survey from Spitzer multi-band IR observations. This cluster is spectroscopically confirmed by 33 galaxy members, has a velocity dispersion of 650 +/- 150 km/sec. Our observations are designed to provide a robust luminosity estimate for comparison with galaxy and gas properties in clusters at low redshift and in the other known clusters at z greater than 1.
