The solar wind is powered by the Sun. Although it starts in the solar chromosphere and corona, as it moves out though the heliosphere, it develops some interesting features that have little to do with the Sun. This talk will focus on sorting out which aspects of the solar wind are driven by the Sun and which arise from the complex physics of expanding and rotating plasmas and from interactions with non-solar material.
