Advancements in the parameterization of clouds in global circulation models (GCMs) are contingent upon our ability to validate them on the global scale. We examine the performance of the European Center for Medium-range Weather Forecasting (ECMWF) prognostic cloud scheme using data from the Lidar In-space Technology Experiment (LITE). Qualitative comparisons and results from a statistical analysis are presented.
