We propose a turbulent model for the formation of molecular clouds. Its
principal characteristics consist in being a fragmentation model and in
providing an estimate for the mass spectrum of the molecular clouds, in
good agreement with observations. The main theoretic tool is furnished
by the β-model of intermittent fully developed turbulence.
