Electronic dissociative recombination (EDR) AB+ + e- → A + B is an important process in astrophysical, combustion and fusion plasmas. A theoretical treatment of EDR requires two steps: the calculation of potential energy surfaces and coupling terms using techniques of quantum chemistry, and the calculation of the collision dynamics using the potentials and coupling terms. The first step of the treatment, showing that the EDR of N2H+ should lead essentially to N2 and H, is presented.
