A relationship between observable parameters for non-evolving radio sources has been worked out and used as a standard for investigating models of radio source evolution of a given radio source sample. Using the 3CR sample, it was found that for radio galaxies both luminosity-linear size evolution and linear size-redshift evolution are probably occurring. On the other hand for quasars the best results were obtained when it was assumed that there was no cosmological evolution of linear size. Furthermore, if a correlation between mean luminosity and redshift was included for quasars, the luminosity was found to be independent of linear size.
