The author examines a procedure recently proposed by Carfora and Marzuoli that intends to deform a family of locally inhomogeneous and anisotropic spatially closed cosmological models into closed Robertson-Walker universes. Moreover, it is shown how the essential physical relations in Carfora and Marzuoli's work can be obtained within a general setting without referring to their procedure with its restrictive underlying assumptions.
