We have derived a kinematical model for elliptical galaxies, under the assumptions of cylindrical symmetry of the residual velocities and the absence of third order velocity asymmetries. It is shown to be in correct agreement with known experimental data on the bulge of M31, and to give a M/L ratio very similar to that computed for very different assumptions.
