Globular Clusters, Ch Stars
Scientific paper
I will present the distribution of carbon abundances derived from intermediate band photometry and low-dispersion spectroscopy of stars on the giant and subgiant branches in 6 Milky Way globular clusters. I will compare the distribution of G-Band strengths and in particular the frequency of CH stars with that observed in the field to evaluate the possible contributions of globular clusters to the field halo population. Implications for the number of binaries and for theories of carbon production and dispersal in globular clusters will also be discussed.
