We present chemical abundances for O Mg Si Ca and Fe for three red giants in the sparse globular cluster Terzan 7 from high resolution observations with VLT-UVES. The stars show high metallicity ([Fe/H] ~ -0.6) and no enhancement of alpha process elements. This cluster is physically associated to the Sagittarius dwarf Spheroidal and thus important in order to clarify the complex history of this interesting and somewhat peculiar galaxy. Terzan 7 seems to display a chemical pattern similar to the metal-rich population of Sgr and different to the metal-poor globular cluster M 54 which is also associated to Sagittarius and often considered its nucleus. On the basis of these findings we examine some possible scenarios for the formation and evolution of the system.
