On August 5, 1995 Ultra Low Frequency (ULF) waves were measured by WIND in the upstream solar wind, in the magnetotail by IMP 8, and by high latitude European ground based magnetometers. The compressional ULF waves within the magnetotail appear to be the result of a sudden impulse in the solar wind which had a dynamic pressure increase of 1.5 nPa. The Pc5 period waves were observed first at WIND, then at IMP 8, and lastly, at the ground magnetometers. Small-amplitude pressure pulses were observed after the main SI with the same period as the compressional ULF waves observed on the ground and in the magnetotail. The arrival time of the SI is consistent with propagation time of the solar wind from Wind. These data will be discussed in the context of resonant Alfvén waves and magnetospheric waveguides.
