We propose to observe a highly peculiar pulsar, B0826-34, which shows both the phenomenon of drifting and nulling. Some of us have shown in the past, that at high frequencies the pulsar actually emits low-level emission during the "nulls" and that the resulting profile resembles the pulse shape observed at low frequencies. We would like to observe this pulsar simultaneously at 10cm and 50cm, in order to study the occurrence of both emission modes at these low and high frequencies at the same time. We will use the data also to study the pulsar's subpulse drift pattern, which is among the most complex known for any pulsar. The results of this short project promise to shed light on the emission physics of pulsars at its most fundamental level by testing our current understanding of the pulsar phenomenon.
