Electromagnetic ion cyclotron (EMIC) waves are known to play an important role in contributing to localized ring ion current loss and radiation belt MeV electron losses during geomagnetic storms. It is therefore important to understand the distribution of EMIC wave occurrence in the plasmasphere and magnetosphere. Preliminary results from a statistical study of EMIC waves seen by GOES 10, 11 and 12 at synchronous orbit (L = 6.6) over the period April 2007 - July 2008 in the 0.1-1 Hz frequency band will be presented. During this 16 month interval GOES-10 was located at 60° W (geographic longitude), GOES-11 at 135° W and GOES-12 at 75° W. The various types of waves seen and their diurnal, seasonal and storm-time distributions will be discussed along with individual EMIC wave event studies and associated inter-satellite similarities and differences.
