A balloon-borne Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope (D = 13 cm, F = 24 cm) devoted to nonsolar astronomy is described. A 6 deg field of view image with an angular resolution of 1.5 arcmin is obtained in the mid ultraviolet atmospheric transmission window. Observations of faint stars and galaxies are reviewed. The design of a second generation telescope (D = 40 cm, F = 100 cm) is outlined.
