The possibility of incorporating the planetary boundary layer (PBL) in complex models, which requires a special treatment was explored. In a simplified version of PBL, the ground substratum is modelled as in Blackadar and the surface layer is accounted for by the Monin-Obukhov similarity theory. The heat and momentun exchanges in the PBL are accomplished through the Richardson number adjustment scheme. The model's ability to present the details of the physical processes involved in the PBL is analyzed.
