A method for simplifying the evaluation of the Poisson integral in spiral density wave theory is proposed which saves computer time in the determination of the kernal function by a factor of 84. A systematic numerical check of the technique is made for a series of asymptotic density-gravitational potential relations. The method also sets limits on the relative error, making possible the realization of accurate test programs involving the evaluation of large numbers of Poisson integrals, particularly programs for testing the finite thickness model. The present method has application to the numerical modeling of the dynamic classification of galaxies.
