Results of optical and molecular line observations of the dark cloud L134 are used to determine basic cloud parameters and to discuss the stability and energy of the cloud. Thermal pressure and rotation are shown to be unimportant, while it is suggested that the internal magnetic field may be important in supporting the cloud against gravitational collapse. Results indicate that the work done by gravitation against thermal pressure is not an effective heating source, and that cosmic rays may provide as much as 20 percent of the required heating energy. The most important energy source is found to be the internal magnetic energy released through the processes of ambipolar diffusion.
