A simplified analytical model of a cooling hot neutron star is presented which describes the neutrinos detected from the recent supernova in the LMC. The model accounts for all of the observational data and provides an estimate of the radius of the hot neutron star. While the supernova has confirmed the general picture of core collapse, it has not provided sufficient data to discriminate between equations of state or to validate specific detailed models.
