The question of whether the Cuban late Maastrichtian megaturbidite is an impact-derived deposit is considered. A late Maastrichtian paleogeographic map of the northwestern Caribbean is presented. It is concluded that the late Maastrichtian megaturbidite found in Cuba is probably unrelated to the suspected large asteroid impact that took place at the K/T boundary.
