A closer look at Galactic O-type field stars does in general not lend support to the notion that they form as single entities in the field. Using deep imaging, a fraction of 12% is found to be located in a cluster. However for a majority of 60% an history of dynamical ejection from a cluster/OB-association can be inferred using existing spatial and kinematical data.
